Catch Up Time
07/05/2007 by Peter Miller.
Not blogged for a while. Main Reason is WORK. Been working some strange shifts but yipee back on my normal shifts now. Still up at 5.00 in the morning but that is what travelling 50 mile there and 50 miles back does for you. Oh yeah, and I am half pi****.
It’s been an interesting few weeks. One of the things that has taken up so much time, apart from work is my mom and dad. They are due to move to a new house on 25.05.07. They have a council property and have been living their for 60 years, the powers that be have decided to pull their house down and re-house them.
Quite traumatic as you can imagine. So we (Lyn and myself) have been trying to organise the move, you know, packing, sorting out other things that you do when you move. A lot of time has been spent doing this. It is amazing how much stuff you collect over the years.
My dad is 97 and does not welcome a move at his time of life. There are so many memories associated with where he and my mom live but mom is totally up for a change.
I will also be sorry when the property is bull dozed, I too, have many memories there, some happy, some sad.
We have been for a few walks over the Chase, right on our doorstep and we have completely overlooked the the beauty of this place. i think we may have stumbled on a rock star or footballers pad over there, probably Robbie Williams as he was looking for a pad near to here. The house we saw is enormous and overlooking a lake, gorgeous, ok ok just a little jealous.
So, it’s time to go but I will now be able to continue hosting my personal spot on the web world and bleat or be happy with what is going on. Here is a photo of my dad in his back garden enjoying what is left of his time there. At least they are moving to a cleaner quieter area. When they moved there it must have been like a tiny oasis but over the years the scum have taken over.
